You want to teach before you learn
You want to spend before you earn
You’re so like me
in that deepest place
In the deepest place where you
Have to face yourself alone
All alone
The fire of youth was on your brow
And those mistakes can haunt you now
You’re so like me
in that deepest place
In the deepest place where you
Have to face yourself alone
All alone
Take Heart my brothers
Cry out in wonder and with joy
Take Heart you mother, child
God returned to rescue
You
Chorus
He bought what you could not pay for
He brought you back to him once more
Slowly you take it in
Jesus paid for your sin
Chorus

Take Heart is one of few songs actually written to the Church. If you fan through my song lyrics, you will quickly notice that I write to God. I talk to him, listen for him, write it down. I connect with him deeply through songwriting.
But
on rare occasion, I turn and speak to the Church.
I speak to her with profound and deep encouragement . . . a reminder of the story of her rescue.
I
love Matt’s beautifully inspired arrangement for this one.
